Young leaves often carry bronze or burgundy tones, while mature growth becomes darker and develops deeper basal lobes. Mature growth can become broader, darker and more strongly heart-shaped, although individual plants may differ because the second parent is unspecified. The dressleri influence is most apparent in the dense velvet texture, deep colour and pronounced basal lobes. Parentage records support variation between individuals, so the mature habit and exact blade proportions should be described from the plant itself.
New leaves commonly open in bronze, red or golden-brown tones. As they harden, the colour changes to dark green and the surface develops a richer velvet finish. Warm red-brown colouring may remain around the veins and leaf bases, reflecting traits associated with the recorded A. dressleri parent.
