Metallic copper-gold veins spread across the dark velvet leaves of Anoectochilus roxburghii × Ludisia discolor ‘Spiderman’. The pattern branches through the leaf surface in a web-like network over low creeping growth.
It grows from creeping terrestrial stems and prefers humid, shaded indoor conditions. The fine roots prefer light, evenly moist substrate that stays open enough to prevent stale wetness around the base.
This hybrid combines Anoectochilus roxburghii with Ludisia discolor, two terrestrial jewel orchids with patterned foliage and creeping growth. It stays low in the pot and forms new leaves along the surface stem.
Low light, warm humidity, steady moisture and an airy substrate match its shallow terrestrial root system. A shallow pot gives the creeping stem room to extend while keeping moisture more even around the upper root zone.
This jewel-orchid hybrid is considered non-toxic to cats and dogs. Keep small pots away from pets that chew foliage or disturb humid displays.
Anoectochilus roxburghii × Ludisia discolor ‘Spiderman’ is a cultivated hybrid between Anoectochilus roxburghii and Ludisia discolor. The Anoectochilus parent belongs to a genus named for the open-lipped flower structure, and the epithet roxburghii honours William Roxburgh. Ludisia discolor is another terrestrial jewel orchid grown for creeping stems and patterned leaves.
