Ninja Tricolor has dark reginula-type leaves with an uneven mix of cream, green and blush tones. Each leaf develops its own pattern, ranging from subtle flecking to larger uneven sections.
It grows from a small central base, with short petioles keeping the leaves close together. The plant stays small and upright, building slowly over time. Because the root system is fine and compact, an oversized pot can stay wet too long around the base.
This plant belongs to the compact Alocasia reginula group, a dark-leaved tropical Alocasia with a small basal habit. The cream, green and blush pattern varies from plant to plant.
Older plants may occasionally produce a small spathe and spadix indoors.
The species name reginula means “little queen”, fitting the small plant size and compact growth.
Pale areas have less chlorophyll. Stronger green leaves should remain on the plant to support growth.
Keep space around new leaves as they expand. Tight placement can mark soft new growth.
Cut or damaged tissue can irritate skin and mouth, so keep the plant away from pets and small children.
