Alocasia macrorrhizos ‘New Guinea Gold’, also called ‘Jungle Gold’, has golden stems rising from a thick trunk-like base. Broad glossy green leaves above them may carry yellow flecks or larger splashes, with the markings arranged differently on every blade.
The newest leaves may open yellow-green before deepening, leaving the most continuous gold along the stems below. Established indoor plants commonly reach 1.5–2 m, while tropical or greenhouse specimens may approach 2.4 m. The mature plant combines a heavy canopy of waved elephant-ear leaves with an increasingly prominent golden framework from base to blade.
