Alocasia infernalis ‘Black Magic’ is a compact plant with a slender stem and leaves that change position as it matures. Juvenile foliage spreads outward; later leaves rise more upright and gather into a dark crown.
Several colour stages may be present together, from metallic purple on fresh growth to glossy purple-black on mature leaves. It comes from heavy shade in warm, ever-moist forest, so a warm, humid position with subdued indirect light best matches its natural setting.
Plant names, growth habits, natural habitats and indoor care guidance are checked against trusted botanical, habitat and horticultural references before publication.View our plant care resources and references.
