Alocasia ‘Bambino Arrow’ Albo-Variegata keeps the narrow Bambino Arrow leaf shape but adds cream-white variegation. Narrow arrow-shaped blades rise on slender petioles, with each leaf showing its own balance of green, cream and white tissue.
White leaf sections have little or no chlorophyll, so the greener parts of the plant do most of the photosynthesis. Give bright filtered light and keep the pot warm. Water after the upper mix dries, so new leaves are less likely to stick and white tissue browns less often.
Alocasia ‘Bambino Arrow’ Albo-Variegata follows the compact, narrow-leaved growth of Alocasia ‘Bambino Arrow’. The amount of white can differ strongly from leaf to leaf.
White tissue can brown quickly in hot sun, very dry air, fertiliser salt build-up in the mix or sharp wet-dry swings. Keep firm green leaves on the plant because they photosynthesise and feed the rhizome.
Keep this variegated Alocasia away from pets and children. If plant tissue is ingested, it can irritate the mouth, throat and stomach.
‘Albo-Variegata’ refers to the white variegation over the narrow Bambino Arrow leaf shape.
Choose this form if you want changing white patterning and can manage faster browning on pale tissue.
