Picea pungens 'Super Blue' is a compact Colorado blue spruce selected for strong steel-blue needle colour and a dense pyramidal habit that stays attractive well beyond the holiday season. It works as a living Christmas tree, but its real value is as a long-term container or garden conifer that keeps its cool-toned colour through the year.
Picea pungens 'Super Blue' prefers full sun, fertile well-drained soil, and even moisture without waterlogging, especially in pots.
Like other living festive spruces, it should only spend a short period indoors and then be re-acclimated gradually rather than moved straight from warm rooms into hard frost. A strong option if you want a more alpine, silvery look than green dwarf spruces usually provide.
