Tradescantia zebrina ‘Burgundy’ aka ‘Purple Joy’
Tradescantia zebrina ‘Burgundy’ aka ‘Purple Joy’ spreads on succulent jointed stems that root when the nodes touch the growing surface. Pointed leaves carry two pale silver-green bands over burgundy to purple-green foliage, with rich purple colouring beneath.
The branching stems soon trail over the pot. As older shoots lengthen, the centre becomes more open. Newly rooted tips fill it with fresh silver-and-burgundy foliage.
