Philodendron 'Prince of Orange' is a compact self-heading hybrid that cycles through several warm colours on a single plant, with new leaves opening bright orange, then shifting through yellow and finally maturing green. Because it stays in a rosette rather than sending out vines, it gives a full, upright shape without needing any support and fits easily into smaller spaces. Most plants stay under about 60 cm indoors.
Bright, indirect light keeps the transitions cleaner, while watering once the top 15–20% of the mix has dried prevents the soggy conditions that flatten growth and colour. It handles average household humidity fairly well but grows better with a little more, and an airy mix with bark and perlite keeps the roots moving.
Like other philodendrons, it contains calcium oxalate and should be kept away from pets and children.
