Smooth green leaves with a clear heart-shaped base and pointed tip grow along thin, flexible stems. New leaves appear one after another as the vine extends, with small aerial roots forming along the stem.
Left to hang, the plant forms long trailing strands of heart-shaped leaves. Given a support, the same vine can climb upward and produce larger foliage over time.
