Philodendron gloriosum 'Zebra' is a selected form of the creeping velvet species with stronger primary and secondary venation, so the leaves read more graphically striped than standard gloriosum. The plant still behaves as a terrestrial creeper rather than a climber, which means wide containers suit it better than poles or hanging baskets.
The velvety surface, broad cordate shape, and more assertive vein network make it a good choice for growers who like gloriosum but want a slightly louder leaf. Bright, indirect light keeps the contrast stronger, while watering after the top few centimetres have dried helps prevent rhizome rot.
It prefers humidity around or above 60%, temperatures from 18–27 °C, and a loose peat-free mix with bark or perlite. It stays low and spreading, so floor-level or tabletop display works best.
