Narrow, finger-like lobes give Philodendron 'Glad Hands' its divided, hand-shaped leaf structure. The plant grows as a climbing Philodendron in the pedatum group, with leaves that become more expressive as the segments lengthen and separate. Its petioles hold the lobed blades away from the stem, giving the foliage an open, fingered leaf shape as the plant matures. A pole or trellis gives the stem a rooting surface and lifts the divided foliage above the pot. Chewing leaves or stems can cause irritation due to calcium oxalate crystals, so place it with pets and children in mind.
