Philodendron genevieveanum
As Philodendron genevieveanum climbs, its long leaf stalks hold the large leaves away from the stem, creating an open, upright display. The leaves are dark above and much paler underneath, so the colour difference becomes visible whenever the foliage turns or overlaps.
Older growth develops another layer of texture: the coverings around new leaves dry into fine pale-brown fibres that can remain around the stem below the newest foliage.
