Kalanchoe beharensis develops into a slow, branching succulent shrub with thick stems and large triangular leaves covered in a velvety coating, giving the plant a dry, sculptural look even while young. Mature leaves often show olive to rusty tones above with a paler underside, and older plants can eventually take on a small-tree character.
It comes from arid parts of Madagascar, so the key indoors is strong light, a sharply draining succulent mix, and thorough watering only after the substrate has dried completely.
