Hoya 'Patricia' brings together the durability of Hoya elliptica and the tropical elegance of Hoya darwinii. Created by Antone Jones, this hybrid was designed to offer strong growth, sculptural foliage, and reliable flowering without the extreme sensitivity of its rarer parent. Its glossy green leaves show delicate veining and a firm texture, while blooms appear as soft, creamy umbels that last longer than those of Hoya darwinii. Perfect for collectors who want a distinctive plant with a balance of challenge and adaptability.
This hybrid inherits traits from rainforest environments where warmth, filtered light, and humidity dominate. Expect moderate to fast growth indoors with vines extending up to 2 m. Like other Hoyas, it produces latex sap that may irritate skin and is best kept away from pets.
The genus Hoya was named after the English botanist Thomas Hoy. ‘Patricia’ honors the breeder’s choice for an elegant and easy-to-remember name. Introduced by Antone Jones in 2019, it remains a popular hybrid for collectors due to its balanced care requirements and ornamental foliage.
Order today and bring home a hybrid that blends resilience with striking foliage and long-lasting blooms – perfect for any curated Hoya display.
