Hoya Substrate Set focuses on texture rather than heavy nutrition. The mix is meant to dry more cleanly between waterings while keeping enough structure around roots in small pots and hanging containers.
What to expect

Mixing guide
Blend the three materials with a base material instead of potting directly into pure coarse ingredients. This keeps the root zone open but still gives roots contact and moisture buffering.
