Hoya Potting Mix for airy wax plant roots
Hoya Potting Mix is made for wax plants that prefer an airy, quick-draining root zone instead of dense, constantly damp compost. Many indoor Hoyas have somewhat succulent leaves or stems, so roots usually perform better when they receive moisture and then regain airflow.
For Hoyas that want air around the roots
- Rooted Hoya cuttings moving into their first proper pot
- Established wax plants that dry too slowly in standard soil
- Trailing or climbing Hoyas grown indoors with good drainage
Want loose Hoya components?
Choose Hoya Substrate Set when you want pine bark, perlite and Lava Rock Granules as separate components for a bark-led Hoya substrate.
Small pots and open texture work best
Keep pots modest in size, because oversized containers stay wet longer than Hoya roots usually prefer. For very fine-rooted or moisture-loving species, adjust watering carefully rather than assuming every Hoya wants the same dry interval.
