A bright position with filtered light and temperatures around 18–26°C suits this trailing plant. Let the stems hang over the pot edge and shield the leaves from hot sun. Keep the plant above 15°C and clear of cold glass, draughts and direct heater airflow. In a warm room, check humidity at leaf level: 60–80% is a useful growing target. Use a humidifier where the air is dry, with gentle ventilation around the plant.

In an airy, freely draining mix, water when the pot is lighter and the deeper mix is only lightly moist. Wet the whole root ball and drain. During slower growth, wait until the mix is fairly dry before watering again, without leaving it completely dry.

Feed lightly with balanced orchid fertiliser about every two weeks while new growth develops, following the label; pause when it stops. When roots fill the pot, move the plant into the next size. Check the fresh mix for fertiliser before adding more.

Root a one- or two-node stem cutting in lightly moist sphagnum, loosely packed in a container with drainage holes. Use a clean blade and wear gloves, as the sap can irritate skin. Remove lower leaves and keep other foliage above the moss. Give warmth, indirect light and humid air. Ventilate any cover and hold it off the leaves; pot into airy mix after rooting.

• Soft or yellowing foliage while the mix stays wet: Persistent wetness can damage roots. Drain trapped water and inspect roots if decline continues. Repot in fresh, airy mix, using a clean pot just large enough for the roots that remain. The pot must have drainage holes. If decay is widespread, save only healthy stem cuttings. • New dry, bleached patches on exposed leaves: Cream margins are normal, and healthy leaves should feel firm. Hot sun or a sudden increase in light can scorch leaves. Move the plant into bright, filtered light. If you later move it to a brighter position, introduce the stronger light gradually. Existing dry patches will not recover; retain healthy foliage.
• New fine speckling (stippling) with webbing: Inspect damaged leaf undersides with magnification; tapping a leaf over white paper can help locate mites. Confirm spider mites before treatment. Isolate the plant, gently rinse both leaf surfaces and let water drain. Recheck every few days and repeat rinsing while live mites remain.
