This form carries cream colouring through the centre of each leaf. Hoya heuschkeliana (inner-variegated form) is a centrally variegated form of Hoya heuschkeliana, a small-leaved epiphyte native to the Philippines.

• Placement: Choose bright filtered light for most of the day. Keep the green margins well lit and place the pale centres several centimetres from hot glass.
• Watering and root mix: Rewater after the upper mix loses moisture, before the whole pot stays dry for days. Water less often under cool, slow conditions. For repotting, use fine bark and mineral particles, adding only enough moisture-retentive material for the small root ball to rewet evenly. Avoid excess unused mix around the roots of this slower-growing variegated plant.
• Trailing growth: Use a hanging pot or a light hoop that leaves the branching stems open. Thin older stems can split if they are repeatedly bent.
