‘Black Margin’ is a cultivated selection recognised by the dark edge around the blade. Hoya glabra is an epiphyte of wet tropical forest, native to Sumatra and northern to north-western Borneo.

• Support and leaf space: Anchor a substantial trellis before the foliage becomes heavy. Avoid sharp bends in a runner carrying heavy foliage.

• Watering: Let the upper layer dry before watering thoroughly. Keep moisture consistent while a new leaf expands, without leaving the centre saturated.
