Grow in chunky, freely draining mix. Check moisture deeper in the mix, using a clear pot to see inside where possible. Wait until the pot feels light and the mix is nearly dry throughout. Use a light balanced orchid feed about every two weeks while new growth develops, following the label. Pause when growth stops and flush occasionally with plain water. When roots fill the pot, move the plant into the next size. Check the fresh mix for fertiliser before feeding again.

Root a healthy stem cutting with at least one node in lightly moist propagation mix. Use a clean blade and wear gloves, as the sap can irritate skin. Remove the lower leaves and keep the remaining leaves above the mix. Provide warmth, indirect light and humid air, with any cover ventilated and off the leaves. Once rooted, transfer the cutting to a small pot with drainage holes.

If you later move it to a brighter position, introduce the stronger light gradually. Existing dry patches will not recover; retain healthy foliage.
• Fine pale speckling (stippling) with webbing: Inspect damaged leaf undersides with magnification; tapping a leaf over white paper can help locate mites. Confirm spider mites before treatment. Isolate the plant, gently rinse both leaf surfaces and let water drain. Recheck every few days and repeat rinsing while live mites remain.
