Hoya clemensiorum 'Kalimantan' (Clone 1) is a rare regional form of Hoya clemensiorum (T.Green), collected from the Kalimantan region of Indonesian Borneo. This slow-growing epiphyte is prized for its striking venation, where deep green vascular lines create dramatic contrast against a lighter green background. With its thick, lance-shaped leaves and climbing growth habit, this form is a favorite among serious Hoya collectors seeking bold texture and tropical authenticity.
The genus Hoya honors English botanist Thomas Hoy. The species name clemensiorum uses the Latin genitive plural to recognize Joseph and Mary Strong Clemens, who collected extensively in Borneo. “Kalimantan” refers to the Indonesian part of Borneo, where this specific clone was collected, distinguishing it from other regional variants.
Want to grow one of the most distinct Hoyas from Southeast Asia? Add Hoya clemensiorum 'Kalimantan' (Clone 1) to your collection and enjoy its bold texture and slow, rewarding growth!
