Thick exposed roots merge into a swollen trunk base beneath a compact crown of small glossy leaves. This enlarged lower structure is created through nursery training and changes slowly, keeping its bonsai-like proportions as the leafy top continues to grow.
Fine shoots extend and branch above the heavy base. Their lighter growth can be shaped into a rounded canopy that leaves the sculptural roots and trunk fully visible below.
