Euphorbia alluaudii is a Madagascan succulent shrub with slender segmented green stems that branch into an upright, candelabra-like silhouette. It carries little to no leaf growth for much of the year, relying instead on photosynthetic stems, which gives it a clean, architectural look that works well in bright indoor spaces.
Mature plants can reach around 2 m, but growth stays manageable in containers if light is strong and watering remains sparse. Native to dry rocky habitats, it prefers full sun or very bright indirect light, a sharply draining cactus mix, dry air, and temperatures around 18–30 °C. It is also easy to propagate from stem cuttings once the cut end has calloused.
Milky latex sap is irritating and toxic if ingested, so handle stems carefully and keep it away from pets.
