Euphorbia abyssinica is a candelabra-style succulent Euphorbia with thick ribbed stems that rise vertically and branch as the plant matures. The green stems carry defined angles, small paired spines, and occasional short-lived leaves on fresh growth, keeping the plant’s character centred on sculptural stem structure, with broad foliage playing only a minor seasonal role. In a container it grows slowly, with firm growth supported by strong light, warmth, and a mineral, sharply draining substrate. Broken tissue releases irritant white latex, so skin contact should be avoided and placement should take pets and children into account.
