Crassula ovata 'Horn Tree' is a jade plant cultivar with thick, tubular to horn-shaped succulent leaves on sturdy, branching stems. The foliage stores water, giving the plant a compact, characterful look and a slow, woody growth habit with age. Very bright light and a gritty, free-draining succulent mix suit its dry-growing rhythm. Water deeply, then allow the substrate to dry before watering again. A modest pot size and mineral-rich substrate keep the roots airy, while older stems gradually become more tree-like. Keep away from pets that chew plants because Crassula ovata can be toxic if eaten.
