Chamaedorea metallica
A single thin upright stem carries broad leaves that are often almost entire and split into two wide lobes at the tip, creating a blunt fishtail outline. This simple, two-lobed leaf form gives the species a very different silhouette from feather-leaved palms.
The blades are dark blue-green and can show a subtle metallic sheen. The crown remains concentrated near the top of the slender stem, so the broad leaf shape stays easy to see as the plant matures.
Mature plants may also produce small orange flowers on inflorescences below the foliage.
