‘Coco’ is a stable Rex Cultorum clone recognised by silver leaves with dark midribs. Begonia rex supplies the principal wild background to the group from humid, shaded eastern Himalayan sites and contributes to the group’s cultivated diversity.

Successive crosses added tropical rhizomatous Begonia species to the lineage; growers selected the resulting seedlings for stable characters such as silver leaves with dark midribs. This cultivar exists only in cultivation; vegetative propagation preserves its growth habit together with silver leaves with an almost black midrib.
