Begonia 'Autumn Ember' is a spectacular rhizomatous hybrid created from a cross between Begonia ‘Marmaduke’ and Begonia ‘Angel Glow.’ Selected from a group of seedlings for its extraordinary colour, this cultivar showcases the brightest orange foliage, especially when new leaves are unfolding. In groups or displays, its fiery tones seem to glow from within, earning it a place as one of the most eye-catching modern foliage Begonias.
Developed by hybridising two ornamental foliage Begonias, ‘Autumn Ember’ was chosen specifically for its intense orange hues, which are rarely seen in the genus. Its name reflects its autumnal glow and ember-like brilliance, making it instantly recognisable in collections and displays.
'Autumn Ember' holds its foliage year-round indoors, with the brightest orange tones seen in fresh juvenile leaves. Growth is strongest in spring and summer. Its clumping rhizomatous habit makes it perfect for decorative pots where its foliage can be displayed at eye level.
The genus Begonia was named in the 18th century by Charles Plumier in honour of Michel Bégon (1638 – 1710), a French administrator and amateur botanist. 'Autumn Ember' continues this tradition with its fiery, modern appeal.
With glowing orange foliage that outshines most other Begonias, Begonia 'Autumn Ember' is a modern hybrid designed for maximum impact. Order today and make this ember-bright cultivar the highlight of your indoor collection.
