These care values are quick reference points for indoor growing. Use them as a guide, then adjust for pot size, substrate, temperature and how quickly the substrate dries.

Aporocactus ‘Melanie’ develops long pendent cactus stems divided into low ribs and lined with closely spaced areoles. Short bristle-like spines give the green growth a fine textured surface while allowing the narrow stems to remain flexible enough to hang.
New shoots begin upright, then curve over the container as they gain length. Older growth becomes thicker, darker and more freely branched, eventually forming a dense curtain that can extend well below the pot. Mature stems may produce large funnel-shaped flowers from their sides. Flower colour varies between cultivated plants, while the long ribbed stems retain their fine bristled surface.
