As the foliage hardens, the pale areas spread out from the veins across the dark velvet surface and form a broad metallic-looking network. Mature blades become wider and more heart-shaped, with a dense velvet surface and a narrow dark margin. The plant generally remains around 40–50 cm high and wide. Older leaves show much greater silver coverage and sharper contrast than juvenile foliage.
‘Silver Blush’ develops rounded dark green leaves with broad silver areas concentrated around the central and basal veins. New growth can open bronze or reddish before the pale pattern strengthens.
