Rounded velvet leaves close completely around the point of attachment on this Colombian species. Anthurium forgetii has rounded velvet leaves with a continuous lower edge instead of an open heart-shaped sinus. Young leaves may open bronze or reddish before becoming deep green. Fine pale veins spread across the soft, dark surface.
Mature blades become broader and almost circular, while the closed base remains their defining feature. The plant usually stays compact at about 45–60 cm high and wide. Older specimens may carry fewer leaves than some velvet Anthuriums, but each mature blade has greater width, darker colouring and a clearer silver-green vein pattern.
