Anthurium forgetii
The petiole meets the underside of a continuous rounded blade, so the base closes around its point of attachment and the leaf hangs from the crown as an unbroken oval. The deep green velvet surface is crossed by pale veins that often carry a softly frosted border.
Successive leaves sit close together on a short erect stem that produces roots freely around its base. Their rounded outlines overlap as the crown develops. Fresh growth opens lighter, then deepens in colour and gains a firmer surface as it hardens.
