Fine cream lines, broken marbling and larger pale sections cross the broad glossy leaves of Alocasia odora ‘Batik’ Variegata. Darker veins and green islands remain visible within densely marked areas, creating a pattern reminiscent of cloth coloured through resist dyeing.
Fresh marks may begin pale green and become creamier as the blade matures. Later leaves grow thicker, develop soft waves and carry the intricate pattern across a much larger heart-to-arrow-shaped surface. The plant also becomes taller and more stem-forming with age, eventually lifting its varied foliage beyond 1 m indoors. Fine lines and broad pale fields may appear together on the established canopy.
