Agave tequilana is a larger blue-green species with long rigid leaves rising from a heavy central rosette. The thick leaves store water, carry toothed margins and finish in sharp points, so the plant needs space around the crown as it gains width. Mature scale is the key factor with this species: even young plants can develop into broad, weighty container specimens over time. A pot with drainage holes and enough mass becomes important once the leaf span increases. Marks on the tips or leaf edges can remain visible after transport, contact or repotting.
