The feather-like veins of Hoya ‘Sunrise’ remain visible as the leaves change colour. Its leathery, pointed blades are usually about 5.5–7.5 cm long. The green surface can develop yellow, bronze and soft red tones, often beginning near the margins while the veins stay clearly defined.
Flexible stems creep across a surface, fall from a container or wind upward. Small roots may form at the leaf joints when a stem meets a mount or another surface. As the stems spread, the patterned leaves face different directions and display their veins and changing colour across the plant.
Mature growth can carry rounded clusters of small white flowers. Their swept-back petals surround a pale yellow-green centre that may have a faint pink tint. Pollinated flowers may develop into slender seed pods.
