Worm castings – gentle organic amendment for substrate recipes
Worm castings are useful where a custom blend needs a small organic nutrient contribution. They should stay in proportion with the rest of the recipe because their fine texture changes how the pot holds water.

Details
Pair a small amount with open materials such as bark, pumice, perlite or lava rock. That keeps the substrate from becoming too soft while still bringing an organic component.

Worm castings do not replace an appropriate fertilising routine for plants that need regular nutrition. They are also unsuitable for carnivorous plants and other very lean systems.
