Tradescantia mundula ‘Lisa’ is a small-leaved trailing Tradescantia with soft green, cream, pale yellow and purple tones. The fine stems creep first, then hang down as they lengthen, creating a delicate trailing shape with irregular colour on each leaf.
The pattern is finely broken across small pointed leaves, with purple-toned undersides adding colour beneath the stems. Close leaf spacing, fine stems and bristly surface texture give this cultivar its small-scale detail.
Tradescantia mundula is a South American species native from south-eastern and southern Brazil to north-eastern Argentina. ‘Lisa’ is a cultivated variegated form with fine trailing stems and mixed pale-to-purple striping.
Tradescantia mundula ‘Lisa’ contains irritating sap. Keep it away from pets that chew foliage and wear gloves if your skin reacts easily when taking cuttings.
