The Ugly Ducklings – 6 Imperfect Houseplants

Our Ugly Ducklings are B-grade houseplants with cosmetic imperfections. These can include mechanical damage such as torn or broken leaves, as well as brown leaf tips.

The marks on existing leaves will remain. With time and everyday care, these ugly ducklings can still grow new, beautiful leaves.

What’s in your surprise set?

Six assorted houseplants from our range, each in a nursery pot measuring 12 cm in diameter.
The selection is random. Individual plants, varieties and combinations cannot be chosen.
Example photos: The photos show six example plants that may be included in a set, along with examples of cosmetic damage. Your set may contain different plants, and the type and extent of cosmetic damage may differ from those shown.

If you order several sets, you may receive the same plants more than once.

Helping your plants settle in

Unpack the plants carefully and give them at least two weeks to settle into your home. Avoid unnecessary repotting, trimming damaged leaves or repeatedly moving the pots during this time. Keep them away from heaters and cold draughts. Our after-delivery care guide has more advice for their first days at home.

The plants may have different light and watering needs. For advice on where to put each plant and when to water it, look it up in our shop. Check how moist the potting mix feels in each pot before watering, and let excess water drain away.

Pets and children

The assortment may include plants that are harmful if chewed or swallowed. Keep the plants out of reach of pets and young children, and check the safety information for each plant.
