Sarracenia 'Juthatip Soper' is a carnivorous pitcher plant cultivar with upright pitchers coloured in pink, red and green veining. The pitchers are modified leaves that form open tubes from the crown.
This bog-plant hybrid needs strong light, mineral-free water and nutrient-poor acidic substrate. Carnivorous-plant medium, rainwater or distilled water, and winter dormancy are central to keeping the pitchers firm.
Sarracenia 'Juthatip Soper' produces pitchers directly from the crown. New pitchers colour up in very bright conditions, while weak light can lead to softer growth and less intense red-pink tones.
The plant comes from cultivated Sarracenia breeding. Keep the roots wet in acidic, low-nutrient medium and use clean water with very little dissolved mineral content.
Place Sarracenia 'Juthatip Soper' where pets and small children cannot chew the pitchers or disturb the wet substrate. The pitcher traps are delicate, and the root zone is sensitive to unsuitable water, soil and fertiliser.
Sarracenia 'Juthatip Soper' is a registered Sarracenia cultivar connected with breeding involving Sarracenia leucophylla and Sarracenia purpurea. The cultivar name honours Juthatip Soper, and M. Soper in the United Kingdom is associated with its cultivar background.
