• Add support once the stout stem extends: A pole, plank or trellis keeps the vine upright as nodes lengthen. Attach the stem loosely and leave new petioles clear.
• Acclimatise the broad white sectors: Use bright indirect light and increase exposure gradually after a move. White tissue can scorch or heat-mark sooner than green tissue.
• Water only after the upper root zone has dried: Rewet the pot thoroughly and allow all excess water to drain. If the mix remains heavy for many days, address drainage before shortening the watering interval.

• The amount of white changes between leaves: Variation is normal. Judge several nodes together; if the plant is firm and growing well, a change in pattern alone does not need treatment.
• White tissue turns tan or brown: Shade the plant from abrupt hot sun when exposure has changed. If the root ball is dry, rewet it completely; when salt deposits or recent heavy feeding point to excess salts, flush the mix and drain it well. Give future leaves more space if the damage follows rubbing.
• A shoot becomes persistently all green or almost all white: Follow the colour through more than one node. If a nearly white shoot weakens, cut back to a healthy node with green tissue. An all-green shoot can remain healthy when it is vigorous. Prune that greener section only if you prefer to keep more white pattern in the plant.
• Stippling, webbing or silver scars appear: Mites and thrips can both mark variegated leaves. Isolate the plant and check both leaf surfaces and the newest fold. Fine stippling or webbing calls for a houseplant product labelled for mites; silver scars with dark specks call for one labelled for thrips. Repeat treatment only as the selected label directs.
• Yellowing develops in a wet, heavy root ball: Allow the mix to begin drying and empty any standing water. If wilt or yellowing persists after that change, inspect the root system; leave every firm root in place, trim away soft decayed roots and renew substrate whose structure or drainage has failed. For major root loss, save a firm green-bearing node as propagation material and place it in fresh, clean potting mix to root. If decay has reached every remaining root and node, no healthy cutting remains; discard the plant.
