Pachira aquatica Pachira aquatica is a tropical wet-forest tree grown indoors as the money tree, with glossy palmate leaves spreading above a woody stem. Young plants stay upright and leafy in pots, while older plants can build a fuller canopy through repeated flushes of new growth. The broad leaflets create a leafy indoor tree outline with a clearly defined leaf shape and sturdy container habit. Bright indirect light, warmth, drainage and light even moisture keep the plant leafy without leaving the substrate saturated. ASPCA lists Pachira aquatica as non-toxic to cats and dogs.
