Monstera deliciosa 'Bulbasaur' is a green-variegated Monstera with layered green patterning on the broad leaves of Monstera deliciosa. New growth can show deeper green, paler green and mottled sections while the plant keeps a climbing stem with nodes and aerial roots.
The plant develops from active growth points along the stem. As the root system strengthens and the stem gains support, new leaves can become larger and show more of the mature Monstera shape.
Monstera deliciosa 'Bulbasaur' opens new leaves rolled, then the blades expand and firm up as they harden. The final pattern becomes clearer after the leaf has fully opened.
Aerial roots are part of the plant’s climbing structure. Flexible roots can be directed toward a pole or into the potting mix, while stiff older roots should be left in place rather than forced into position.
Monstera deliciosa 'Bulbasaur' contains calcium oxalate crystals. Keep leaves, stems and cuttings away from pets and children who may chew them, and wash sap from skin after pruning.
This plant belongs to Monstera deliciosa in Araceae. Monstera refers to the unusual mature leaves, and deliciosa refers to the ripe fruit produced by mature plants in suitable tropical conditions.
As the stem matures, Monstera deliciosa 'Bulbasaur' can develop layered green patterning and broader split leaves on supported growth.
