Medinilla coccinea 'Gregori Hambali' combines broad, deeply veined leaves with reddish to purple-toned undersides and vivid pink flower clusters that rise and then cascade above the foliage. As a semi-epiphytic Medinilla, it prefers a porous, airy root zone rather than dense standard compost, and it responds best to bright indirect light, stable warmth around 18–25 °C, and consistently high humidity.
Let the mix dry moderately between waterings instead of keeping it constantly wet, especially on younger plants, and feed lightly during active growth to support foliage and bloom production. The result is a tropical flowering shrub with real structure, not just seasonal colour, and it works particularly well for growers who already succeed with bark-rich mixes and steadier indoor humidity.
