Live Cushion Moss adds mound-like texture to closed terrariums, humid planted glass and moss-focused displays. It works best where the base stays evenly damp and the moss is not sitting in pooled water.

Where cushion moss fits

  • Raised detail: use around stones, wood or compact tropical plants.
  • Closed glass: steady humidity helps the moss stay hydrated.
  • Mossy layouts: use where height and texture matter more than broad coverage.

Care after placing

Press it onto a damp contact layer, keep it evenly moist and remove dead leaves or browned moss before they spread. Open sealed jars briefly when condensation stays heavy for long periods.

How it differs from sheet moss

Cushion moss creates mounds. Sheet moss creates flatter surface coverage.

Moisture and airflow
