Hypoestes phyllostachya 'Pink' keeps things small but lively, with green leaves densely freckled in bright pink and a naturally compact habit that suits shelves, desks, windowsills, and open terrariums. Indoors it usually stays around 30–45 cm tall and responds best to bright, indirect light, steady warmth, and humidity from about 60% upward.
Keep the substrate lightly moist by watering once the top 30–50% has dried, use a loose, well-draining mix, and pinch the tips regularly if you want a fuller, bushier plant. Its low, branching habit also makes it useful in mixed bowls or layered terrarium scenes.
Pale lilac flowers can appear, but foliage remains the main attraction, and this cultivar is generally considered non-toxic, though chewing may still cause mild stomach upset.
