This unidentified thick-leaved Hoya is associated with Lai Châu in northern Vietnam. Its exact species and wild collection site remain unknown.

• The side facing the window develops bleached dry marks: The pale tissue overheated while the rest of the leaf remained firm. Filter the strongest sun and keep the watering cycle consistent while the next leaf develops.
• A new thick silver-flecked blade hardens with a fold from the trellis: The heavy new leaf shifted against the trellis before its petiole hardened. Set the pot beside a rigid trellis and tie the thick stem below the next leaf, leaving the petiole free. Fasten only the stem and keep ties off petioles and blades. Leave a firm bend untouched. Shorten the runner only when the damaged section splits or begins to decay.
• The growing runner pauses after producing one heavy leaf: The support shifted or the roots could not supply enough moisture while the heavy leaf was expanding. Secure the frame, check the root ball and keep the tip in bright filtered light. Return to light feeding after the runner opens a healthy new leaf. Leave the growing point in place unless the tissue clearly dies.
