Goeppertia rufibarba 'Tropistar' forms a full, fountain-like clump of narrow, gently rippled leaves with glossy green tops, velvety purple undersides, and softly hairy petioles. Indoors it usually reaches around 60–70 cm tall and wide, bringing movement without becoming bulky.
It grows best in bright, indirect light with warm temperatures, high humidity, and a breathable mix that stays lightly moist rather than wet. Let only the top 10–15% of the substrate dry before watering, avoid direct sun and cold drafts, and handle the leaf surface gently to protect its texture.
Brown tips and curled leaves often point to dry air or hard water, while rhizomatous growth makes division possible at repotting and keeps the clump renewing itself from the base indoors.
