Very large rounded to heart-shaped leaves stand clear of upright woody stems on long slender petioles. The generous spaces between the blades expose the framework and give this large-leaved fig an open silhouette. Young plants often follow one leading shoot; as the stem matures and branches, the broad foliage can spread into a wider tree-like crown.
