Rounded glossy leaves cluster along smooth grey stems, with short gaps between the blades keeping the canopy full. The young branches divide readily and add foliage throughout both the inner and outer framework. Left to extend, this dense structure develops into a small upright tree; on shorter stems it retains the compact, closely leafed outline of a rounded shrub.
