Ficus lyrata
Each thick leaf narrows through the middle and widens again toward a rounded top. Raised veins and softly waved margins give the large green surface its familiar texture.
Young plants often grow as a single upright stem lined with leaves. As the trunk strengthens, side branches can develop higher up and spread the foliage into a wider crown.
